Something Something.. :) ;) :)

“I don’t know, but, there is something in you….”

How many times have we heard this line? Not many times. This may appear special. Or may not. But it sometimes is really special. How do you describe that feeling which you can’t express through words? I don’t know. Yes, these exact words. We don’t know. It is so easy to simplify every feeling and every thought when you can coin a word to it. But it becomes so difficult when someone so talkative seems to be lost at words. I don’t really know. Again.

Like my mom puts it, “when you cannot describe something through words, your silence does that for you”. I never understood the meaning of this until now. Have you ever felt the need not to say anything and just stay silent? The moment when you don’t want to say anything and just listen to the silence speaking in volumes. Oh yeah. Gives an amazing feeling, right? So what do you call this feeling? Love?? Nah!! Too presumptuous. Definitely not lust. Then? Again, at a loss of words. This is the feeling that brings you close to your inner self. You start liking yourself. You start taking extra care of yourself. Or not! But you always have that unexplained smile and that glow on your face. Is that because of a person? May be. Or maybe not. The reason can be as simple as a good connection, and the connection can be as silly as food! You never know. You never know what clicks. It can be the click of the shutter bug, or it can be a little crazy sequence of some several hundred words. It can simply be your beautiful big brown eyes or the subtlety of your expressions. It can also be your snow white toes!!! You can never plan these. You don’t want to. The excitement is in the unexpected. You never will know what would actually touch you. Who would have thought that worldly known pathetic sense of humor can stand out to be intelligently timed (still) pathetic jokes which can crackle someone’s funny bones so much? That’s the thing. What was the word? Magic! Nah!! Again, at a loss of the right word! May be connection is the right word. Yeah!

How can you describe that silence? The silence where you don’t care to search for the right words, where your mind goes blissfully blank, where you can hear your own heart beats. That silence which becomes your communication channel with that other person. That silence is… peace? Maybe. Or is it liberation? No, it may be serenity? No? Whatever it is, it is one of the best feelings in the world. The strength of your silence may be the strength of your connection. We all come across this silence at many points of our lives. Generally, we are too busy running in the rat race of life that we often miss these sneak peeks of silence. And if we get to meet such moments, sometimes we don’t even realize it until it’s too late. That special silence can be in the form of your favorite tune, your groovy music, or your favorite food. It can be the sound of typing your thoughts into the silver frame. It can also be a meaningless random conversation with someone on the other end of the line. It may be you and the sea and splashing of waves against the rocks below or simply watching the moon shine from the window of your room. This silence lets your brain take a break from the forever search for the right word and lets your senses take a back seat and just relax. It feels your body and mind with an inexplicable calm. If you think I am describing a high after your stoned or high from any alcohol or addiction, then you are wrong, my friend. Any addiction cannot give you this feeling ever and even if it does, it won’t last long. No, it is the kind of peace you get when the first thing you see every morning when you open your eyes is your mom’s smiling face, or your dad’s love filled expression. It is that silence which can be felt only you are totally sound and not stoned any way. So, no I am not an alcoholic preaching alcoholism and no, I don’t need to be sent to rehab. I am just drunk on my piece of silence. It is peace. Yes, that’s the word. My silence has brought peace to me. After searching high and low for so many things, I found my silence, where I don’t find the need to say anything, knowing that everything unsaid is being understood.

Similar is with the word “something”. It can mean many things. It can indicate something very vague. But it can also mean something special, or something different. “Something” can be coined to anything which may not have a name tagged to it. A feeling? May be. A sensation? Or an experience? It can stand out for anything.  It can also be nothing.

We all are in search for our something-something and our silence. Always. Unknowingly. Many of us might have already got it and they may also know it, but may not remember that every time. It can be forever or may be for a small moment. If it is just for a moment, take a time out from the rat race and enjoy that moment. Take a breather and just breathe and live for once. It is here and it is now. It may not be here tomorrow, may just stay as a sweet memory. Whatever it is, hold on it, enjoy it and live the moment, who knows how long this moment would be yours. Who knows how long you would have that something in you for someone.

So search for your silent something, find it, if you already have it, just cherish the silence with that special smile!! ;) :P :)

  1. We have all brought up with that silence in our home when life was too simple and we didn’t know how to over think. We have seen our parents communicating through silence, when mom gives dad tea without even him asking and even when we feel feverish, mom suddenly comes and check our temperature like she knows.. but along the way we forget how to have this silence. We become busy and a minute of silence is boring or even terrible, restlessness. But then again in life you come across moments where silence again becomes the best feeling. Like a moment with your best friend where u look at each other’s silliness and admit this is why we are friends, or the first bite of your favorite food after a long time and all u feel is a joy in your heart.. Thanks for reminding wat it is and how much it matters. Cherish this feeling like you said :)

  3. I am not sure of the something but that silence has always been around me someway or other. Silence personified nicely in the article. The thing I enjoyed the most in the article is :-

  4. As the saying goes by Feed Rogers "When I say it's you I like, I'm talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things withoutwhich humankind cannot survive. Lovethat conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed"

People find peace through Silence and few through violence and few through love and rememberence. Its abu accepting your peace and attaining "Inner Peace".

    Great writing Trish. Spiritually 😜

  5. Its was really written from heart and very first time without any hard feelings in heart and the feeling explained so beautifully that made to think to speak to comment but it was so hearty that made me to remain silent. May be the writer always walk away from the discussion of love feeling of love but its the feeling makes the person feel deeply feels humbly and makes to feel something something so easy because in true silence and in true love person actually meets to his/her shelf and finds the soul the right inner peace which makes more of him/her. What to say it was really written with right topic and executed in right way many of your blogs are so boring but this one was so catchy and holdy made me read the each line and i enjoyed each written line.
