Just wanna see the light!

I just wanna see the light
Even if it blinds me, I just wanna see the light.
Breathe it in and leave it all behind
Turn around and go away forever,
I just wanna see the light.

Even if it’s not dark yet,
I still wanna see the light.
I wanna see it all the time
Be it dawn dusk or noon or the darkest hour of the night
I wanna see the white ball of glow and twinkling beauties.

I wanna be there when it rains for the first time in years in a desert
I wanna be there when the butterfly breaks free from the caterpillar's cocoon into its first flight.
I wanna be there when a baby opens it’s eyes into this world, when life is created
When a flower blooms, when the fireflies wake up into the darkness, when life happens,
I wanna see it all, take it all in, and every moment through all
I just wanna see the light.

I wanna be there when the hell bends over and breaks loose
I wanna stand strong in the light when we win our way into our haven
I wanna see the light dancing in your eyes when you see me next time.
In the mid of the night of despair, in the darkness of fear,
Be it the last thing I ever see, I will hold on to the hope of light.
Yes, even if it makes me blind, I still just wanna see the light!!

Durga Puja Diaries!!! Part 1

Everything is just so colourful, so shiny. It’s  all smiles and laughter and so very bright. Festivities and celebrations are in the air. Even in the day you feel an extra glow. The whole city is filled with joy. Yes, it’s the city of Joy. It’s my Kolkata.  Yes, my Kolkata. No, I don’t stay particularly in Kolkata. I hail from a small town, Ramrajatala, Howrah. And I am proud of it. But Kolkata is as much mine as it is of any other person staying in Kolkata. Actually, I feel lucky to be staying in Howrah, I get to see and pray to the holy Ganges through the spectacularly lit Hoogly bridge or Second bridge (as we call it locally) twice everyday I am out, which is sometimes the only place of relief and cool breeze. I also get to see all the special tourist attractions of Kolkata, Howrah bridge, Hoogly bridge, Victoria Memorial and the cultural centre of Rabindra Sadan every single day.
